InsightMSC at the GFP Conference 2007

The GFP annual conference held on 15-16 November 2007 in Brighton had the largest attendance of delegates to date and was particularly successful as it celebrated the GFP’s 25th Anniversary with an impressive line up of speakers and the launch of the GFP Awards at the evening gala dinner.

David Muller, InsightMSC Managing Director and Elizabeth Honer, Deputy Director of Finance and Administration at the House of Commons, delivered a session titled ‘Shared Corporate Services: Featuring House of Commons Case Study’.
The presentation explored the real life example of a public sector organisation that has successfully implemented an internal business change programme and achieved tangible benefits by sharing a common internal model and ERP system to deliver better corporate services. 

 

Bringing together six independent internal organisations into a single model and IT system, while taking into account individual requirements, overcoming resistance to change and ensuring ownership by a board that is not required to achieve efficiency savings, proved a challenging environment in which to deliver such a complex project.

 

The speakers shared how a traditional organisation such as the House of Commons has successfully implemented such a programme, the benefits achieved and the lessons that can be applied to shared service programmes.
